In the breathtaking landscape of Sun Valley, Idaho, this five and a half-a half bathroom retreat of Idaho is surrounded by a large bedroom and breathtaking natural beauty that have influenced the design of Sierra. This home is now on the market and is performed by her sister Delaney. It is full of inspiring details. “Delaney and I work together to design every house in such a way that you have a unique and tailor -made feeling of deciding to the location of the property to fabrics on the furniture,” says Sierra. “It can be really fun to work with the family, and it helps us to spend more time together than we would otherwise do.”

1. Warm, organic elements
Inspired by the snow -covered mountain landscape, Sierra filled the house with warm, biological elements that correspond to the perfect balance between sophistication and comfort. Linen loop from Jenni Kayne, recovered oak table from RH, paper lantern and rich oak soils create a feeling of cozy elegance, while a flood of natural light makes the home so inviting.

7. Organization & symmetry
One of the greatest challenges of the project was to maintain a feeling of warmth and intimacy within the expansive, modern layout of the house. Sierra achieved this by overshooting lighting, rich material contrasts such as oak and marble and was thoughtful in terms of spatial planning.
Sierra's tip to make a room cohesive?
“Don't be afraid to start over an empty canvas from the front and only concentrate on a few important feelings that you want to cause from your space (serenity, energy, cosiness, etc.),” she says. “If you can reduce the core feelings you want from space, it helps to make all decisions from inspiration images to your cutlery. If you have a coherent idea of what you want to feel, it will help to define and focus on the end result.”

By using the same cabinets throughout the house, Sierra creates a feeling of cohesion and balance. This design selection improves the river of the house and ensures that every room feels thoughtfully connected. And this bedroom moment – the breathtaking mountain landscape – is simply beautiful.

Who is ready for the most luxurious bath? The symmetry here with the matching Jenni Kayne Sheepell carpet makes me passed out. I also love the use of actual curtains in the bathroom, perfect for this large window. “The inclusion of shapes and texture in a design is the best way to ensure that neutral remains interesting and increased,” says Sierra.

8. Mixed materials
If you design a neutral home, experimenting with unique textures is the keys so as not to make it boring. The combination of tactile elements such as woven accents, natural stone and soft textiles can bring warmth and interest in otherwise simple rooms.
“For the bedrooms we wanted the bedrooms to feel calm and neutral while they are still cozy and warm,” says Sierra. “We have drawn ourselves from our Californian colloquial language in terms of color palette, but mixed with more mountain forward textures such as shearling and ancient carpets for a refined but rustic feeling.”
