If you have added a carpet to an empty room, you know that the right carpet can have a big impact on how a room feels. In large sizes, however, you can also be quite a investment – which means that you probably don't want to buy anything trendy that can get out of fashion quickly. Fortunately, according to the designer, designer Regan Baker, the top carpet trends from 2025, is timeless and reserved, which makes her a perfect investment.
She explains that the currently growing carpets, which are currently becoming increasingly popular, are more subtle than in recent years when maximum bombastic patterns have demanded brave, bombastic patterns. The carpet trends this year are easier and use texture and color fields to create serenity, depth and interest.

Less pattern, more texture
“Customers are looking for more texture than patterns when it comes to carpets,” says Baker. This looks like monochrome carpets with sections with high and low stacks or “woven carpets with apparent tissues and a sewn or handmade detail,” she says. Structured carpets create depth in a minimal and contemporary way and make them very useful for this year towards transition design.

Cohesive solids
Solid carpets are the perfect basis for the calm, artistic interiors that are popular this year. Designer mix statement furniture from different periods, and a solid carpet helps to create cohesion. Baker recommends styling solid color carpets in tone-on-tone tone and adapting the carpets to the wallpaper or furniture in a room.

Mixed materials
Metal Inlay is an exciting new trend for carpets this year. Carpet companies contain smooth metal pieces as part of the edge or pattern in carpets. Baker says that this subtle decoration is an easy way to introduce your interior to a drama or an edge, which makes it perfect for minimal and decorative interiors.
Updated geometry
Stripes and rectangular -based patterns can be seen in this year's carpet trends. The trends of the past few years in intensive, contrasting carpets in chess board or Paisley have been replaced by simplified checkered patterns and quirky folk designs. The color pallets are similarly steamed and clever. You may see green on green stripes or a hand -knotted square sample carpet in maroon, beige and light blue.
Non -traditional shapes
From cut -out corners and wavy edges to sticky abstract shapes, designers play with the shapes of the carpets this year. “[There are] Carpets with a unique shape or an interesting border for a spin for traditional elements, ”says Baker.
This trend corresponds to the rise of hooked and tuftted carpets, which often accept organic forms with irregular edges. Baker announces how the trend of irregular shapes changes the carpet selection: “Instead of deciding on wall-to-wall carpets, customers decide to follow the shape of the room and embrace what there is, e.g. a fireplace or another architectural element,” she says. If you work around these unique shapes and select smaller carpets or a round carpet for an area, the room is defined and a greater feeling of intimacy is created, says Baker.
