While many brands rush online, Hunter Douglas still relies on personal experience. A few months ago, the company for Custom Window treatments presented a 1,950 square meter showroom in New York's decoration and design building with partner dealers Skyline window covers. “Many retailers may have a very strong website and go to the e-commerce model,” says Andy Hubner, Senior Vice President of Sales at Hunter Douglas North America. “We are very firmly convinced that there are many things that have the selection of the right product for the right window for the right fit and function. Exhibition rooms are a great opportunity to present our products and offer an experience. “

When entering the exhibition space, the guests are hit by the range of blinds, shadows, shutters and curtains through the brand, in which the neutral colors of the interior enable the designs to stand out and speak by themselves. “We tried to get things at a distance so that they can step down and have an experience with the product, and see it from a distance that they normally look at a window cover instead of being very close,” says Hubner. When guests Are Ready to take a closer look at a fabric, you can do this with larger format brands that are also available.

Many of the brand's designs are installed in the entire light -flooded room to demonstrate their variability and functionality. Some are on automated systems. “It's not just an exhibition space,” says Hubner. “It is an experience where you can see how it works and see how it interact in your life and how you would use window cladding.”

One of the new products that are on display is the Aura Illumined Shade with integrated lighting effects. Particularly suitable for environments in which the sun goes out early, the built -in LEDs of the shadow can generate surrounding light to illuminate a room, even if there is no sunlight outside. “We simulate [natural light] Through a feature in the shade you can experience in one of our conference rooms in which we can show you how to create warmth in the room, even if it is dark and cloudy outside, ”explains Hubner. This type of effect is almost impossible to understand by only searching on the website.
