This project is personal for the interior designer Keren. The 20-year-old three-bedroom in a colonial style is not her own home, but it is only a few minutes from the weekend of her family in the pastoral hearts of New York Westchester County.

Richter, co -founder of the ad pro directory company White Arrow, together with her husband Thomas often for Site visits on the way to or from her house, her two young children in tow. After I spent two years in the region in the area all day, “I feel very connected to this commission,” says the designer.

The project also proved to be personal for another reason. From the beginning, the owners of the House of Richter gave “a lot of freedom, which is unusual,” she recalls. As an empty nest couple, which was moved by Westchester's suburban routes, customers saw this house as their home forever, but they also allowed the designer to take the lead.

“We often work to marry a different series of influences,” explains Richter, explaining that this meant leaning into the traditional aesthetics of the owner and the early American influences of her white kattleboard house, which was in 2005 was designed by Crisp Architects. Then she married this with a collected look that combines part of the color and pattern of both the British country houses and the Swedish interior of the middle of the 20th century.
