The TWH project: inclusive design in action

Architecture is more than just a building about shaping spaces, improving lives, promoting inclusive and creating opportunities to strengthen. A well -designed environment can eliminate barriers that promote independence and thrive individuals and marginalized groups such as people with disabilities (PWDS). Through the prioritization of accessibility and universal design, architecture becomes a powerful instrument for social responsibility to ensure that rooms serve everyone with dignity and purpose.

The project biker Depot, an initiative, which is led by United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Rizal Nuevo as part of the Renato Heray Bayanihang Arkitectura program under the direction of Renato Heray Bayanihang Arkiteectura, is proof of this vision. It tries to transform the gift shop Tahanang Walang Hagdanan (TWH) into a functional, authorized space. The improved spatial layouts of renovation, barrier -free circulation and the improved user experience enable the PWDs of TWH to present their products and deal with customers. Its universal design principles will optimize the retail surfaces in order to improve the accessibility, comfort and efficiency for both parties. Thinking design solutions improve the movement, ensure clear paths and improve the visibility of the products, which enables transactions seamless and more PWD entrepreneurs.
