No matter what time of year – whether it is an icy winter day or an airy summer night – there is nothing better than getting home to a cozy room. Everyone loves a warm, inviting atmosphere, and with a few simple touches, every house – whether traditionally, modern or contemporary – can feel a little more comfortable. Even if the seasons change, designers want these cozy decor trends in their house all year round.
Rich textures
If you choose rich textures, every room, according to Kathy Kuo, founder and CEO of Kathy Kuo, feels more comfortable. “I love the idea of using a rich texture, in contrast to just color, to create contrast in a room,” she says. “The layers of artificial fur, shearling, velvet, cashmere and chunky rope is a nice way to add both mottles and an increased feeling of luxury. The best thing is that mixing cozy textures can be carried out on every scale – a large velvet Sofa with artificial fur pillow, or with a shearling carpet or a cashmere cover subtle.”
Warm colors and earth tones

Nancy Davilman, the main designer of ND Interiors, says that the color trends have pulled away from cold shades of gray and instead designers are interested in warmer colors. “We move towards the soft, naturally looking warm beige tones,” she says. These calming pallets reflect our collective desire for comfort and relaxation and include the idea that our houses should be a sanctuary. ”
Valerie Cardozo, founder and main designer at Carv Projects in Toronto, Canada, adds that earth tones are a great way to give a room a more cozy feeling. “Think of chocolate brown, terracottas and other natural colors,” she says. “These colors will bring all the environment together, and I'm here. This can be applied by darker wooden floors, darker kitchen hall with wood, wall colors or upholstery. ”
Color -soaked living room
Would you like to create the perfect atmosphere to watch a film or make a nap? It is difficult to be crooked with color wettes, which has been one of the biggest design trends in recent years. There is a good reason for this, says Cardozo because the color trend can achieve an immersive, cocoon -like effect. “Color wetnesses where it is – deep, atmospheric pallets, wrap the entire rooms of walls, blankets and trim exchanges,” she says.
Regardless of whether you paint your room a deep chocolate brown, a chic burgundy or a sophisticated green, just sit down and cover the room in your desired shadow.
Layer lighting

One of the biggest designs “Outs” at the moment (according to gen z) is the overforming lighting. Many claim that it is too hard for the house. Therefore, Cardozo recommends that layer lighting at different places for an intimate but chic feeling of cosiness. “Think of wall lights, table lamps and other mood lighting,” she says.
Wallpaper with natural motifs
Krissy Melendez, designer by Hilton Properties and Head of Design at AJ Capital Partners, reveals that hotels with wallpapers use natural motifs so that rooms feel more homely and luxurious. “For example, at Hilton Princeton's graduates, we designed a thematic wallpaper with tree albums for the guest baths,” she says. “In view of the Increton University, which houses over 400 types of trees and shrubs, we wanted to reflect the importance of nature throughout the local university and the city within the design.” Mural -like wallpapers with natural scenes can give a soothing, inviting backdrop in the bedroom, dining room and living room.

While your idea of calm is a perfectly coherent and coordinated space, designers say that mixing the pattern can actually increase the cozy factor of a room. “Mixing and adapting a variety of different and yet complementary patterns can create a layered, versatile look that feels almost nostalgically-and ultimately cozy,” says Melendez. This effect can also feel a space that is lived in the life and more personal-which is a quick way to a cozy design.

Mimi Meacham, founder and main designer of Marian Louise Design, says that weighted blankets have a moment. And what could be more comfortable than rolling up for a good film (or several episodes of your favorite shows) under a weighted blanket?
“I have always loved the cozy, cocoonic feeling of a weighted blanket, but the designs have often left something to be desired,” says Meachham. This trend is swinging because it combines relaxation with beautiful design and causes a real feeling of sanctuary in the household. ”
Oversized candles
There is no faster way to feel a room cozy than light a candle. Regardless of whether fragrant or direct candles are the easiest way to create a cozy atmosphere.
“I am a self -proclaimed candle lover,” says Meacham. “From their warm ambience and an invitation aroma to the way they increase a room, candles are the perfect accessories for the house. I scattered her in my house, but my current favorite is the trendy, oversized candles. Place one in the middle of your coffee table and it immediately adds chic, cozy atmosphere. ”
