REVIEW – I have had many desk setups over the years. From traditional desks that weigh as much as a truck and require that they sit all day long, regardless of whether they want or not, to a kitchen table. As well as everything in between. Sometimes I limited myself to just work a single laptop screen because my desk had the area for nothing else. On the other hand, I had more than enough space to have a work laptop, an external screen and my personal laptop. I can undoubtedly say that the L-shaped electric stand switch 80 x 80 offers even more surface than anything I have ever had in the past.

Design and functions
This thing is massive! So much that I was nervous that it would not fit into the only room that we put aside for my desk in a house with two children, a dog and a very separate work space for my wife. To my surprise, it fit pretty well and still allowed tons of space to move behind the desk.
To be clear (and I would assume that the pictures would illustrate this), this is not 80 x 80 square. It is an L-shaped desk that is 80 x 80 on each of the long pages and only 27.5 inches deep. All of this is located on stable legs with 3 adjustable height, which are a desk height between 25 inches and 50.5 inches. With a laminate -walnut wood -finish it looks good enough for every environment.
Assembly, installation, furnishings
The meeting was an interesting experience. After opening all three boxes sent, I realized that there should be a fourth box. Of course, that was after I have already settled my current desk and moved down for my wife. With a brief look through the instructions, however, I was found that I was able to put together the 2/3rds I had, and used as I waited for the fourth box arrived. So I did that.
Overall, it took about 30 minutes to assemble the first ⅔ of the desk (and only about 15 to put the last ⅓ together and attach it as soon as it arrived).
Things are not perfect. The holes on the plates that go under the top to secure two upper sections together are not perfectly dependent on the holes on the underside of the top. So you have to put them all lots before you tighten them. This is something you should always do when assembling furniture, but I actually had to solve the screws that tighten me in the previous step and pull a little on the plate to get all the holes in the right places to get the screws. This is not something you should do when putting together furniture. But when a little raw force was used, things went well together.
They also delivered a few extra long all wrenches for the assembly. Most of the time when you have to put together your own furniture, you will receive short, blunt wrenches that make it difficult to get a lot of levers. The long, which was once delivered here, made it extremely easy to maintain the lever that was needed when the screws were screwed in.
All in all, this desk was pretty easy to assemble. There were very few steps compared to other similar desks that can feel like a large Lego set when assembled.
Since you mostly turn this upside down, use two people to lift this thing and turn it around if you have instructed this. It will be very difficult as soon as everything is combined.
Performance
This vari desk is very robust. I have some experiences with a few SIT standard desk tables outside of Amazon (you can see one in the pictures, while it fills out for the missing section of the Vari desk). From the beginning, these no-name descriptions were only a little shaky. So much so that when using a webcam for video calls and trying to tap the person at the same time at the same time, the wobbling could see. To be honest, I was also a little worried about this desk because he only had 3 legs and sitting with a large foot in the middle of the desk. But this concern was gone in the second time when I flopped around and started to put things on it. Sure, I can let it wobble, but I have to make an effort to do this. There is no noticeable wobbling in normal daily use.
The surface is phenomenal. There is just so much space on this thing. To be fair, I come from a much smaller desk, so I think that everything is relative, but still. I was able to do my work laptop, an Apple Cinema display of the old school, my MacBook Air and an iMac (my son. I only tried to get as many things as possible here as possible) with plenty of space for all my decor. Just to take a picture of all of this, I had to switch objectively on my phone on the Ultra width and as far as I could to fit the whole thing into the frame.
They also contained 2 hooks that slide over the ends of the desk to hang things like headphones or backpack. That was your suggestion, but I think you could hang almost everything in a reasonable weight. They also sent some cables organized ties and a rubber interrupted coasters for drinks. I am sure that these things cost them almost nothing, but they are the little things that make up the difference and I love these little additions.
The control block does not click very well. There is a bracket that stitched into the lower edge of the desk, and the control panels then slip and click into the bracket. But there are a lot of wobbling. Any other SIT/Stand -desktisch that I have ever used had a control pillow that scored into the bottom of the desk itself. Not a big business at all, but I would prefer to lock a little safer.
There is also a neckline on the back corner so that cables can fall behind the desk if they have positioned this part in the corner of a room as intended. I did not use this function because this desk did not go into a real corner, but it's nice that they thought for those who put it in a corner.
I would also like to point out the light curve on the edge of the desk on the seated side. I didn't think this would be a big deal, but I love it. It is just so much more convenient to open your arms when typing, as there is no hard desk edge that dig into her forearms. I don't particularly like what it looks like, but the comfort is worth the compromise.
I received an error code when I tried to increase it for the first time because I hadn't added the third leg at first (because of the lack of upper section). It could actually feel that the last connection was not established and stopped me in my footsteps. So I had to express it. I got out of everything, waited about 10 minutes, connected all the cables, including the third leg, and simply kept it upright while I put the desk on the height of the desk I wanted. It was no problem with the rest of the desk. And while I was waiting for the last box, it was only under the desk.
Since I only keep my desks at a height and can sit on a larger stool, I didn't really play around with switching between lifting and lowering. But the engines are pretty fast and if you want to switch back and forth, this would be an easy and quick transition. Simply make sure that the cables of your computers, monitors and other peripheral devices are arranged so that you can travel with the desk and do not wear anything.
The only other thing that needs to be considered here is the quality of the laminate finish. In the pictures online, the wood decision looked more convincing. Personally, it is very clear that it is wrong wood. I wish I had received the finish I got back instead of the walnut that I got, but it could have been the same result.
Last thoughts
I really love this thing. I like to have different stations on a single desk. I have an area for working on my personal laptop, an area for my work for my day job and even an area that I can contact for reading or journaling. The only thing that would have been nice would have been the addition of some hanging organizers for cords and streaks of power, but I had some and added it myself. No dealbreaker.
