Mankato-Gal, whether your home project is luxurious or budget-oriented, the expert and experienced staff of KBM (kitchen, baths and more) from Mankato is ready and willing to help you take it from start to finish.
“We are proud to be a one-stop shop,” said Katelyn Flemming, KBM main internet designer.
“Depending on the needs and wishes of our customers, we can help to select colors, to select light and plumbing pieces and to give advice to carpets, furniture and sanding.”
Added Abby Lewis, business development representative for KBM, to: “We can do everything for the inside of your house and have a large exhibition room.”
KBM, the Troy Schrom in 2006 founded to satisfy the demand for high-quality cupboards, worktops and kitchen/bathroom accessories directly from manufacturers, is now conducted by Jake Schrom, the President of KBM and Troja's son.
“We offer both retail and contractor-based services,” said Lewis.
“Some people come in to browse and get ideas, and if you go through the door, as you see and need a contractor, we can connect you to you.”
It is not just the quality products that KBM offers that address customers. With the experienced general manager Luke Carlson, whose professional background comprises for almost a decade, combined with Flemming and three additional interior designers that have all the degrees in this area – KBM offers industry competence that inspires trust.
And their design services are free with the purchase of materials via KBM.
Lewis describes a three-stage process that begins with the meeting with a designer and in-home advice and at the same time listening to what every customer wants to achieve.
“Then we will offer a 3-D rendering of the project that set up the space (s) with the colors and wooden surfaces that you want, which really speak for your style and aesthetics, and give them cost estimates,” said Lewis.
“As soon as revisions or improvements have been made – maybe you would like to add a spice shelf or think that the selection of the backplash looks too dark – we collect all materials for you.
“We are really your expert in this area.”
Flemming emphasizes that KBM is trying to meet customers at their respective price and comfort.
“We treat every customer as an individual,” she said.
“You can lead us through your everyday tasks and we can help you put together a moodboard with which we put your personal style and what is best suited for you.
“We will do pretty much what you want. Some people know exactly what they want while we work with others for weeks or months because they are looking for more instructions.”
The first question that a KBM designer could ask is what a homeowner hopes and the scope of his project.
“As a rule, we ask if you have a budget in mind. We can inform you about the upper edge options, in the middle of the point and lower points in order to steer them according to the budget that works for you,” said Flemming.
“We have put together estimates and customers can always let ourselves be known whether they need adjustments. We know the products like our hands back and can suggest opportunities to reduce the costs without affecting the appearance for which they are.”
Personal grade, professional knowledge
Sue Zarn, a long-time mankato resident, recently benefited from KBMS specialist knowledge and created the interior of her brand new town house on the southern edge of Mankato.
“KBM had the resources and rehearsals we needed for our project,” said Zarn, a retired pedagogue who has designed other houses with her spouse in the past and is a perfectionist described by himself.
“Usually I have walking around from one place to the other for floor coverings, cupboards and plumbing dishes, but KBM had the ability to do all of this so that it was much less footwork for me.”
In addition, Zarn estimated that Flemming respected her style and opinions and at the same time started her own touch when it made sense for the overall effect.
“Katelyn was very receptive to my personal ideas and supported my personal ideas. I always come with my own thoughts and research,” said Zarn.
“She had her very good ideas to present, but Katelyn was friendly and supported by me and she felt comfortable. We worked well together and discovered similarities in our thinking.”
Zarn, a natural minimalist, chose an inner palate that concentrated on white, beige and black, with a few color shoes to lighten things.
“Our kitchen cabinets are birch with a washed almond stain, and the floors are LVP [luxury vinyl planking] With ECRU-colored carpet in the bedroom, ”she noticed.
The owner's bedroom has an accent wall in a steamed green color, while Cambria is interested in the kitchen with a light river with a golden thread that runs under the white quartz.
Black characteristics, including doors, are charged with brushed golden cabinet hardware.
“Sues at home is beautiful and feels so inviting and warm,” said Flemming of the finished product.
Flemming points out that the Zarn town house, although it is unique, reflects some current design trends.
“Many people are currently looking for softer, more subtle tones and more wood to bring warmth into rooms,” said Flemming.
“It focuses on the fact that rooms are warm and more comfortable.”
This means that Rift White Oak-a Higher Wahl-IM Moment is a popular type of wood for cupboards.
“And we see more glass,” said Flemming. “There is a certain demand for open shelves, while other people want to hide everything.
“We are here to guide customers as it is best for your personal style.”
Lewis listed Shaw, Mohawk and Karndean when the Flooring brands KBM offer, among other things. For example, Zarn's LVP was a Shaw product.
“Many people are surprised to learn that we have a large selection of floors at KBM,” said Lewis and mentioned laminate, tiles, hardwood and carpet under the materials they sell.
“If you wish something new in a relatively short lead time that has a great influence, the flooring is an easy way to update itself,” she added.
And while Cambria is an increasingly popular election, Lewis says that Onyx is also a “great option” for bathrooms at a somewhat lower price.
“If you are not interested in cleaning mortar lines, both with Cambria and onyx Mutesless showers are possible,” said Lewis.
The customer-specific cabinets from KBM include the Minnesota-Sourced Plato cabinets and cooking cabinets of a company based in Kansas.
“We also have a variety of other cabinet lines,” said Lewis.
Don't forget the windows; KBM also picks up on a wide range of blinds and brewing.
Lewis emphasizes that KBM is happily working with all customers, regardless of whether the budgets are narrow or flexible.
“We strive for customer satisfaction,” she said, “and if that means to make a” swap a top “within a few weeks or to spend months in the concept and design phase, we will do it.
“The timeline is really the homeowner about how quickly your project should move – but we can absolutely work with deadlines.”
Construction of the community
With an almost 20-year presence in the mankato area, KBM also likes to return the community.
KBM is currently making materials for Bravo Zulu House, which is available in Winnebago, home for veterans.
And with the eye for younger generations, KBM supports the “Ywca Mankato Trailblazers” program, which is supposed to teach the practical commercialities of six to eighth grade.
“The Trade Trailblazer's program enables you to feel like taking the reins and get involved,” said Lewis.
“Apx Construction has led the indictment and we work with an incredible group of girls from middle school.”
Lewis himself is active with the Minnesota River Builders Association and the larger Mankato growth.
“Jake, Troy and Luke offer enormous support and believe in being a meaningful part of it and returning the communities in which we live and work,” said Lewis.
After all, KBM is all about people feeling at home.
Flemming said: “It is cool to see how our customers trust in us. And we are all really good at listening to what customers want so that they can make their projects their own.”
