Redditors selected a real estate list on R/McMansionhell. Virginia's property allegedly belonged from 1923 to 1929 Calvin Coolidge, US President, although there is only evidence that the owner was used.
The Greyledge Estate is 739 acres and comprises three buildings. The main house is 9,723 square foot and was built in 1842. It has seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms and 13 fireplaces. The gatehouse offers another 2,260 square foot and a studio building has another 491. The list price for the property is 6.25 million US dollars.

Outside it includes a private lake, a pavilion and a trail network. The crime is the massive lawn. Grass is notoriously consuming a lot of water and could be seen as America's greatest irrigated harvest. Fortunately, there are alternatives to such an enormous land use.
A wild courtyard offers so many more advantages than grass. On the one hand, a wealth of local plants is much easier to maintain. Since you have developed for the local climate, you require less manual care and less irrigation. In fact, deeper root systems help with flooding water into the ground and prevent erosion. This type of garden is a healthy ecosystem that supports local wild animals, especially pollinators that are of crucial importance for our food supply.
Some Redditors argued that the property did not qualify as a McMansion. Compared to some houses on the market in Texas, Greyledge is doing well enough in the class department. However, there was still plenty of disgust in the comments on the lawn.
“This gigantic lawn with nothing on it, such a waste of good space,” said a user.
“I can only think about when I see how many trees they cut together to clarify this huge lawn only for the aesthetics,” wrote another.
