In contrast to hanging a bird case, hanging a nesting box in the courtyard is no guarantee that a few birds settle into the roots. The nesting habits of the birds vary depending on the species, and the types vary depending on the region and habitat. But there are many other factors, such as the height and place of the box, the competition, the predators … in other words, the magic could not happen. Birdfy offers some instructions. According to the guidelines of the National Wildlife Federation, Birdfy's birdhouses are suitable for eastern and western Bluebirds and Spatzen, and they could attract chickade and some wars.

It took about a week, but finally my phone chirping with a notification – something happened. I looked at the video and first saw a small beak – and then the whole feathered head and the body carefully examined the box. It was an ordinary house sparrow, probably one of the many that depend on my nearby juniper tree.
Even if the built -in light of the camera was switched off (I was worried that it would scare the birds), the video was bright and sharp. If you press the playback button in the app for recordings or live videos, charging takes five to seven seconds, which is longer than one of my home security cameras. But this birdcam is 200 feet from the Wi-Fi router in our Volkshaus. You can then download it to your phone to share them on social media, and it becomes part of a “story” in the Vogel app with which you can track the nesting step of your tenants.
The nesting caste used the same bird app as the company's feeder and works in the same way. Rachel Cericola explains the functions of the app in her review of the feeder here.

After a week, the bird box did not attract any additional attention despite the lack of apartments in my back yard. I thought maybe the proximity to another (occupied) nesting box could be the problem, so I brought it to another place on the other side of the courtyard. A few Bluebirds started checking within a day.
For several days, a male Bluebird appeared every morning for house tours and put his head in as if it were to take measurements for a sofa. One morning I checked in via the app to see a few branches arranged on the bottom of the house – the couple had apparently signed the lease and began to pull.

I am not only swing and twitched by the birds in the small space, but also delighted by their delicate chirping chirping. The camera's microphone slightly talks between the bird couple when they planned their life in their new temporary home. In a few weeks, I expect the gentle tweets to be replaced by the caterwauling of chicks that scream for breakfast.
All in all, the Birdfy Nisting Box met my expectations. The camera pictures look good and have retained the connection to my Wi-Fi router. According to the battery counter in the app, the solar panel kept the battery fully charged – even in cloudy days – although increased chick activity can fall back on it. And the whole Shebang was good with heavy wind and rain through spring storms.
In earlier years I enjoyed watching all the activities to watch my non-camera nesting boxes, and I always wanted to know what was going on in them. Hopefully the happy couple who claimed will continue this family building. And I will watch the feed and the lye over the course of the season, and I will publish updates for this article when things progress.
