Draper's decoration style has always been a starter in conversation. From Draper's first work a century ago, people had strong opinions about their maximum, modern baroque style. Most of the time it was cheap, but minimalists tended to oppose. In both cases, Draper's name was found by a project in the newspapers. It was intended in many ways. Dorothy's work was always a bit to discuss and created a feeling of interest and thus the community.
Draper steered this philosophy and encouraged her to create some of her most famous decorative elements. When it was initially done, some critics said it was “too modern”, but it became a synonym for the Dorothy Draper & Co. brand that a person would automatically know when seeing such a floor that it was a draper design.
