Clio, SC (WPDE) – The city of Clio is celebrating as a community tonight.
Clio received an award from the Municipal Association of South Carolina for her efforts to improve the community.
They built a park to offer their youth something they had to do outside, and now they are being recognized for it.
Mayor Adam Pate said that he was inspired to bring something to the city that he was not growing up.
We are only happy as a community to join together to celebrate the victories, “said God.” As a small town, they are only a few and far apart. But we are happy to be here. We celebrate happy.

The city created a donation goal of 75,000 US dollars for a city park in 2023.
Grant prices and fundraising awards have contributed to collecting community members 130,000 US dollars
The city officially opened the park during the 2024 cotton festival.
It has modern playground equipment, a pavilion and modern LED lighting.
