Tikker Jared Bender (@Heyitsjaredbender) recently renovated his vehicle to become a living space and took his supporters on a tour.
“I turned this truck into a mini house on wheels,” he said and started the video. He showed some shots from the construction and explained the characteristics he had included.
With a lot of custom -made work, Jared was able to get a bed, clothing, a cooking area, a dishwasher and storage of the food in the covered bed of his truck. He also installed the LED lighting in bed and assembled covers on the windows. While the Memory Foam bed linen was for a single, he designed a spacer to bridge the width of the trunk and enable a full size bed.
The cabin's back seat included space for its tools, books and water. As a little extra installed Jared a cellular antenna on the roof so that he could get a little more signal while enjoying remote adventures.
Tiny houses have many advantages, including independence and mobility, but also require compromises for lifestyle. Jared was the first to notice that this setup is “crazy”, which means that it corresponds to a tight fit. If you arrive in a gas car, there will be dirty fuels in connection with pollution and more extensive costs due to pollution and more extensive costs.
Nevertheless, many tiny houses can work in the long run and still be perfectly mobile. The smaller footprint means that less energy is required for heating and cooling compared to a traditional home, which leads to large monthly savings and reduced energy emissions at home. These can be reduced even further with solar energy and battery storage. In fact, Jared already benefits from the use of battery storage in his house on wheels.
Jared's Tikok supporter was very impressed by the work he put in his truck.
“Looks fantastic! Creative space,” said a community member.
