Its groundbreaking custom design tool is now a staple in its product line, and the company has improved some areas of the aforementioned Oakywood Custom Standing Desk to make it an even better desk – believe it or not.
But before I delve further, I would like to point out that the desire and demand for ergonomic solutions for professional workstations and unique home offices continues to increase, and a size issue continues. For those unique basements, spare rooms, bedroom nooks and dedicated home offices, sizing doesn't always work. They don't even always fit into professional offices.
So Oakywood set out to solve this problem by using their custom sizes. You have this Standing Desk Pro if you need a “normal” to “large” desk. It's incredibly satisfying to be able to customize every aspect of your desk. The base configuration of the Oakywood Standing Desk Pro starts at $1,190 and can quickly increase as you add accessories and sizes. If I maximize the price, I can get the Oakywood Standing Desk Pro without accessories for up to $3,390. Speaking of accessories, Oakywood sells great desk shelves, MagSafe stands, cable management, laptop stands, and desk mats.
Oakywood can ship anywhere in the world, but remember that if you are customizing a desk, time will be required to build your desk, cut it to size, and then deliver it. These lead times can be up to 9 weeks, but it takes time to turn a piece of beautiful walnut into a desk. You can now run to Target or check Amazon for a cheap desk or desk.

Oakywood Standing Desk Pro: Unboxing and first impressions
Most of the time, my first impression of a desk is when I receive it, and often when I unpack it. However, because of the online editor tools, I can share my first impressions of this desk. I couldn't wait to get my hands on my custom-made desk, especially after trying out the newer grommet options and choosing a solid walnut desk with matching accessories.
The packaging was compact and well organized, making unpacking incredibly easy. This desk came in a box that was screwed together and not just sealed with tape, which I really appreciated as it helped protect my custom-made desk. The boxes contained the table top, adjustable steel frame legs, a control panel, assembly tools and the necessary cables.
I immediately liked the first-class workmanship of the wood, the robust workmanship and the simple construction. Unlike most desks which take significantly longer, it only took a few minutes.

I chose a solid walnut desk, although they also come in solid oak, oak and walnut veneer, and black-stained oak. If you are interested in veneer table tops, they are treated with environmentally friendly oil wax and are significantly lighter and cheaper than the solid wood versions.
The desk is overall minimalistic and I like that. It is a beautiful work of art in and of itself. It's a finely crafted piece of wood that looks great on its own, let alone when paired with other beautiful appliances.
The desk can be raised and lowered quickly and quietly, making it suitable for almost any room. Don't worry about it being too loud.
Oakywood standing desk Pro: In use
This desk was exactly what I expected. It's clean, professional, elegant, works great, is high quality and looks great. This quickly became my iPad desk, which I shared with another team member. However, without going into too much detail about my use case, the important thing is that this desk works beautifully. The grommet built into the desk is great for hiding cables, whether you have a desk shelf or not. Even without it, it's a great cable holder. A desk shelf is a great way to route cables where they need to go (e.g. on the back of a monitor).
The controller for raising and lowering the desk is pretty slick. It is a handle and a display in the same piece. Lift the small button and the desk rises. Push it down, and you guessed it: it goes down. There is a display in the button that also shows the altitude. The great thing about this is that you can go to a saved preset with a double click.
I'm 6'2″ tall and the other reviewer who tried this desk is about 6'5″ tall. Not only can the Oakywood Standing Desk Pro reach our preferred standing height, but it is still stable at that height, which is great.
Finally, I put this desk on wheels, which I do with most of my desks. Swivel casters make for a super easy transition if (let's be honest…when) I decide to change something. I can roll the desk away from the wall, make my adjustments, and then roll it back. Or, in the case of a multi-purpose room, if that room needs to be used for something other than an office, the desk can be rolled out directly without worry or damage.
