Kilteen, Texas (KWTX) – Killen ISD held their first from three town hall meetings to talk about a new framework for the district, which ensures that their institutions, employees and programs are used so that the students give a powerful school to learn.
This conversation is made when KISD is exposed to a projected defect of 31 million US dollars over four years. This is due to a loss of the effects on the federal influences, the decline in registration and aging facilities.
The Killen High School Cafeteria crowded with parents and employees. A rough design of an optimization plan was recently created, and now the district asks whether the community agrees.
“We ask the community, our families, parents, employees, and get your thoughts, opinions, opinions, what you like and what you like and what you don't like about the design scenarios,” says KISD communication director Karen Rudolph.
There are nine scenarios, they focused on three in the first meeting.
Some difficult decisions may have to be made, e.g. B. closing certain schools and the redistribution of these students.
To ensure that the opinion of everyone is taken into account, you have divided the amount to achieve a more efficient note.
“You work in small groups and the table broker will ensure that you ask really good questions and pursue a lot of information,” explains Rudolph.
These scenarios are not final decisions, but the district weighs their options for every school due to their five priorities: academic results, high -quality school facilities, strong leadership and personnel, the commitment to families and students as well as resources for the willingness of the students.
“We want to use our resources so that we can have most students in the highest powerful schools and the highest and best quality facilities. That is the final goal,” says Rudolph.
The other two sessions will take place on Monday, September 8th and Thursday, September 11th.
