Fleing palace preparations for navarathri

MySuru: At Grand MySuru Dasara, careful restoration work is underway to ensure that the lighting of the MySore Palace blinds visitors in all its splendor.

Almost 16,000 to 17,000 damaged light bulbs are replaced, so that the full set of a LAKH decoration pear when the Navarathri celebrations begin, light up.

Every year the royal family conducts religious ceremonies in the palace during the Navarathri and makes flawless lighting a question of tradition and prestige. While the replacement process of the light bulb began about 5 to 6 days ago at different palace hours, work on the main facade of the palace building began yesterday, with large cranes being used to achieve the high -towering structures.

Massive annual restoration drive

The palace is decorated with a Lakh light bulb that spread over its facade, gates and the surrounding walls.

Due to the natural wear caused by pigeon droppings, wind and rain, around 30,000 light bulbs are damaged annually. All faulty light bulbs are carefully identified and replaced before each Dasara to ensure a perfect display. This year around 16,500 to 17,500 light bulbs were intended for exchange.

A team of over 12 specialists is involved in the task, works in shifts and uses powerful cranes to access increased sections of the palace.

“The replacement of damaged light bulbs is a routine annual process. This year's restoration work is continued rapidly, and we are confident to complete it within a week,” said TS Subramanya, deputy director of Mysore Palace Board.

Every year the palace evaluates around 35,000 specially produced light bulbs from a provider in Delhi.

While 16,000 to 17,000 light bulbs are replaced to prepare for Dasara, the remaining stock is used for routine maintenance in the course of the year.

Tradition of technology

Despite the global shift towards LED lighting, the MySORE PALAST has deliberately selected to retain its traditional light lamps of the 15-volt thread, which was estimated for their pronounced golden lights, which gives the lighting its unique charm. These onions are tailor -made for the palace and remain of central importance for the preservation of its historical aesthetics.

Technicians use a live switching system to identify and replace incorrect light bulbs in real time without interrupting the ongoing lighting display. The palace is divided into nine separate switching circuit circles, each controling a certain section. This method also enables seamless repairs during the top observation times.

Preparations in Durbar Halls

While this is being prepared, there are also extensive preparations in the private and public dubbar -the palace of the palace, where the royal family carries sacred rituals during Navarathri.

The decorated chandeliers, each equipped with 19 to 25 lamps, are fully broken down, cleaned with shampoo and carefully rebuilt to ensure that they sparkle brilliant for the celebrations.

Precision switching system

The palace lighting is divided into three different zones: the main building of the palace, the Jayamarthanda goal and the entrance near the Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple.

Each zone has a special master switch. When all three are activated in perfect dubbing, it creates a breathtaking moment that is valued by locals and tourists alike.

Silent keyword behind the glow

MySuru: Four power conversions distribute electricity to the MySore Palace lighting system. A red Beacon light on the central dome plays a crucial role in coordinating the sequence.

Historically, this red light was a signal that pointed out that the Maharajas were present in the palace. Today it serves as a silent pre-illumination note.

The red light remains continuously postponed, but is switched off exactly five minutes before switching on the palace lights, which makes the technical employee aware of the preparation for activation.

Within 1-2 seconds, all three master switches are overturned, which creates the illusion that the entire palace immediately breaks into the light-a moment that impresses the thousands that gathered again and again to watch the spectacle.
