Historical mosques, temple that are to be renovated

Dr. Ehsan Bhatta, secretary of the Department of Tourism, Archeology and Museums, Punjab, announced that all historical mosques and temples in the province are attributed to their original size, whereby special attention is paid to the preservation of their cultural and architectural importance.

He made these comments during a comprehensive visit in various historical sites in Jhelum, Gujrat and Gujranwala on Sunday.

During the tour, Dr. Bhatta Important Heritage locations such as Rohtas Fort in Jhelum, Khair-Unnisas Grave, Kharian Boli, Gujrats Ram Pyari Museum, Jain Temple and Lodhi Mosque in Aimanabad.

He gave instructions for updating the museum in Rohtas to meet international standards and checked plans to improve the location with decorative lighting.

In Kharian Boli, Dr. Bhatta the foundation of a photo gallery that is open to the public on World Tourism Day. He also instructed the responsible civil servants to complete the work in the Gujrat Museum within two months.

In addition, the restoration of the historical DAK Chowki in Wazirabad and the Ghakkar Tomari Temple in Gujranwala was discussed, with plans for maintenance work into account.

Dr. Bhatta emphasized the government's commitment to preserve Punjab's rich historical and religious heritage, which he described as an important part of promoting cultural tourism and interreligious harmony.
