Dark colors are not completely off the table in living rooms. It is just about ensuring that you use it balanced – especially if there is only limited natural light in your living area.
“[Certain paint shades] Can darken and close the room to the extent when the cave feels, especially if the ceiling has the same color as the walls, “says Button.
Button may be using the classic approach, painting a patch before performing complete treatment, normally opening around a door and expanding it to the ceiling.
“Then I live with it for a few days to gain a feeling for whether it is too dark and see it at different times of the day – like tomorrow, noon and evening,” she adds.

So when you replace your carpet, select sure you choose a sufficient size. One that is 8×10 or 9×12 is common for many living rooms, lamarque notes.
“Furniture like the sofa should sit on the carpet at least half, and you can be wrong on the side of caution and make sure that the carpet is located under the entire furniture group,” she adds.
