The design for calm is not as easy as taking off a cabin in a remote location and cutting the WLAN. “We design everything for the idea that Calle is a luxury. From the moment you can complete your phone, takes over the cabin and leads you to a different rhythm,” says Hector Hughes, co-founder of Unplugged, a startup based in Great Britain, which was introduced in 2020 with a handful of digital digital-detox-cabin retreats. By 2024, there were more than 30 cabins within a two -hour journey from large cities such as London and Manchester, with further locations in Spain and a target of 60 cabins until the end of 2025.
The success of these rooms lies in the precision of their interiors: proportions that relieve more than overwhelming, materials that invite you to touch, and layouts that choreographed gently choreographed analog behavior. It is a form of environmental psychology at work and creates spaces that the body and mind not calm down by absence, but through carefully selected presence.

“Our interiors are wood -gods and we concentrate the entire design around a huge picture window, so that guests are surrounded by nature from every perspective,” says Hughes. Linen bed linen, sub-bed storage and a telephone lock box encourage guests to drop their devices. Regal displays of books, radio devices and board games replace analog activities and dimmable lamps replace the hard shining. Ping -Minimalism is less about austerity measures and rather about redirecting attention to an image window instead of a screen, the sound of a turntable instead of a notification, a technology that is adopted in a variety of ways in hospitality rooms around the world.
