Western style is not just about spending a moment. It is a national leader in fashion discussion. From the runways to superstar street style to TikTok's “City Cowgirl” craze, Americana is the trend that's shaping how we dress for fall and beyond. So if Shopbop wanted to bring its first major pop-up of the season to life, it had to start at the source: Dallas.
“Dallas has a true fashion identity. It's bold, trend-driven and not afraid of a standout moment,” says Caroline Maguire, Shopbop's fashion director. “Western influence has always lived here, but now the rest of the country is leaning towards it too.” The result? A curated selection that combines modern Western energy with everyday practicality, whether you're styling for New York, LA, Nashville or Chicago.
And really, editing is a joy. Maguire worked closely with Shopbop's buying team to create a curation that blends fall's biggest trends with the bold personality that Dallas Dressing embodies. The first non-negotiable item on her list? Novelty.
“The Dallas Cut has to be something new,” she insists. “Our customer here loves details: the rhinestone, the shine, the standout moment.” Expect crystal-studded tops, statement belts, python-print accessories, and Western-inspired boots that aren't just for the rodeo. With one of the city's biggest galas taking place this weekend, the timing couldn't be better.
But newness doesn't mean being trendy from head to toe. Maguire's styling rule is simple: build – don't overwhelm. “Think about building on a trend rather than wearing it head-to-toe. This balance ensures a look feels stylish rather than costumey,” she says. Her formula is to start with a rich fall knit, add dark raw denim, then layer a suede boot or python belt on top for more structure.
Speaking of suede, prepare to see it everywhere. “Summer suede will last into fall and spring 2026,” says Maguire. “It just looks luxurious and instantly elevates denim and a T-shirt.” The pop-up shop is stocked with suede jackets, boots and handbags in shades of chocolate, brown and oxblood – the kind of investment pieces that feel timeless but are still current.
What should buyers actually invest in this season? Maguire identifies three themes worth building a wardrobe around:
Statement prints
Check and polka-dot patterns are making a resurgence, and not in a preppy way. “We see them designed in a playful and really modern way,” she says. Think tailored checked suits or black and white polka dots, mixed or unexpectedly layered. “It feels fresh and fun.”
The color story
Warm brown, burgundy, mulberry and navy tones as well as red accents characterize the collection – all rounded off with khaki as the new neutral of the season. “Khaki is the glue,” she says. “A khaki trench coat or chinos immediately brings out the bolder colors.”
Elevated sporty chic
The entire cut is permeated by a Western element: boots, fringes, python leather, belt buckles – but it is not a costume. “Pair a plain knit sweater with a suede skirt or crisp trousers,” says Maguire. “It feels modern, elegant and fun.”
Ultimately, Dallas style is about joy – dressing like you mean it. “The overarching theme is balance,” she says. “Wear the trend, but make it yours.”
Whether you're in Dallas or shopping from your phone, the message is the same: These are pieces you can wear now and in seasons to come. And if you can do it personally? Expect more than just great fashion. The pop-up features styling moments, exclusive pieces and the IRL experience Shopbop loyalists crave.
The only risk? Wait. “The customer here knows what she wants,” says Maguire with a smile – and doesn’t hesitate.
