When planning the internal renovation of the existing hotel, Ala Zreigat and Oscar -Scha, the creative duo behind Astet, they pulled incentives from the urban landscape and the industrial heritage from SHOREDITCH. The space improves its connection to the region and, thanks to the details created in cooperation with local makers and craftsmen, which were created in partnership with local makers and craftsmen, is improved into the connection to the region.
“Our goal was to reinterpret the boldness of the original building through a design that is driven both humanly and narratively,” explains Zreigat. “SHOREDITCH is a quarter in which Heritage meets the rebellion, coexisting in rawness and refinement, and we wanted the hotel to embodies this duality.” With the combination of terracotta, brushed metals and natural wood finishes that reinforce the hotel's immersive experience in the hotel, the team was selected that every detail and every transition create an atmosphere that is deeply rooted in its context and yet emotionally appealing. “The result is a place of connection,” continues Zreigat, “the story of luxury as something slower, more mindful and coordinated with its surroundings.”

Astet monitors all aspects of design about the expansive venue and all fazilies and has created a coherent ambience and enables each area to have its own visual identity. Recurring materials are everywhere, while a well -checked lighting scheme improves a feeling of continuity. The brand goes beyond its interior and also gives the streets a playful note and invites the Londoners into their world through an interactive billboard campaign. Every day a cryptic message appears in the Shoreditch High Street and invites passers-by to decipher a puzzle that leads to a hidden Aethos moment in the area.

In the hope of presenting an experience that feels a little different, especially if these daily requests for the SHORDITCH community, from dinner parties to exclusive pop-ups and collaborations, could hide a new era for the sector that feels more open and integrative? In the connection to the region and in the tour with an approach led by the community, we look forward to seeing the development of Aethos here in London, especially in a world that needs a connection more than ever. Let's hope that strangers offer a room to meet, to form ties into forms and lifelong memories.
