All fashion highlights at the Milan Design Week 2025

It was only on Wednesday, and a table spoke to me. But I'm not (yet) hallucinated by design overload – that was at Etro's 5 threads, 40 years Exhibition in the Brera district. In this Milan Design Week, the Italian house celebrated 40 years of its typical swirling Arnica fabric and pattern. The exhibition was designed around the five bright threads – green, yellow, red, turquoise and white – when it was woven into the deep earthy tone for Arnica in the Paisley Jacquard. The Immersive Show made it possible for visitors to explore a clearing thread that followed the carpets through the creation, icon and the journey of Etros most popular Paisley pieces. The talk table previously mentioned told the story, while Etro Trunks and suitcases became clear for video projections. Guests who completed the exhibition also received free of charge, Arnica -Druck stools. Smart design, smarter. –Ac

Laila Gohar is Laila Gohar, who originally lives from Cairo from New York and finds an ordinary home in Salone del Mobile. In a busy week, in which the introduction of the Mediterranean port-inspired Table VII for Gohar World, the artist came into the bed with Marimekko. Their capsule collection was presented during an installation in Teatro Litta: a survival -sized bed with stripes on bed linen, pillow covers, throws, diaries, sleeping masks and pajamas. “It has always been a beloved brand in my family,” said Gohar about the Finnish design house. “My parents discovered it in the 80s, we had it at home and wore it as children.” When we met on the gigantic bed, both Gohar and Marimekko Creative Director Rebekka Bay me say that the start of cooperation, while they first clicked as friends in New York, the beginning of the collaboration for a common urge to stay in bed. It all started when Gohar sent to bed with her newborn baby photos of herself. “We thought when we finally did a collaboration with each other, we wanted to celebrate all the things they shouldn't do in bed. Not only as a place to sleep, but as a place to imagine, dream, hang around … Eat!” A guest got under the sheets and slept for several hours, Bay told me. And we eat – On Wednesday of the salon, the guests were spoiled with a blue and yellow striped cake and a cream on the leaves. The prints (Cake et al) referred to the brilliant archive of the late Marimekko founder Maija Isola of over 4,000 printing, which were kept in their printing shop and the headquarters in Helsinki. “Production is often so far away from a company, but this is so interwoven in Marimekko and its culture,” said Gohar. The collection will start later in 2025. Laila made the bed – and you can soon sleep in it! –Ac
