The dye season is there, and Cabot's color of the year is prepared (in the truest sense of the word!) In order to give depth, character and containment of the exterior of your house. Burnn Hickory is a rich brown with a touch of charcoal – and it is a clear allusion to aged wood.
It is a visually rich color for your deck, siding, outdoor furniture and whatever you color. Here you will find out how you use this adaptable color to revise your outdoor area that will soon be left.
How burned hickory was developed
The semi-traditional, half-modern color was inspired by Shou Sugi Ban (or Yakisugi), to give Japanese art, wooden surfaces in order to seal it. According to Cabot, the inherent depth creates a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, which applies particularly in older houses with natural, rich woodwork.
“Burnn Hickory is an explanation of timeless design,” said Sue Kim, director of color marketing, in a press release. “This deep, earthy color improves Woods natural grain and texture and gives every outdoor project a craftsmanship.

Seasonal
Cabot developed Burnn Hickory into a year-round color that looks just as appealing during the fourth July grill with bright flower lounges and cooler October evenings with deep orange autumn decor. It is relaxing and sanctified, which makes it a perfect companion for rooms in which more ambience is needed. According to Cabot, the shadow warms up beautifully under the glow of fire pits, cord lights and moonlight.
“Homeowners include the term” slow life “and seek outdoors who enable them to enjoy the little moments of life,” added Kim. “Burn Hickory's rich, natural tone promotes calm, quality -oriented rooms that invite a slower pace and a deeper connection to nature.”
Revise your outer space with burned hickory
The Cabot team said Burnn Hickory works best in rooms that are transition, and the applications go beyond the typical terrace: add the stain to kitchen cabinets outdoors, pergolas, shelves and outdoor furniture. You could even use it on one level or a section of your terrace and not on another to create different zones.
To expand the zoning concept, try to use the same color stain (burnt hickory) with different surfaces. The stain is currently available in solid, semi -solid and semi -transparent options. Here is a brief overview so that you know which landfill corresponds to your circumstances:
- Solid: Ideal for areas that see a lot of wear, like on high hands and cabinets or wood that have imperfections
- Half -colored: Will show some wood grain and at the same time have a permanent finish, which is perfect for pergoles and shelves
- Half -transparent: Useful for areas in which the natural wood glows, as on outdoor furniture or a fence
