The Greater Chennai Corporation has announced renovation projects for two large transfer in the city – in T. Nagar and Alwarpet – at a combined price of 7.5 billion rupees.

The initiative is part of a more comprehensive effort to better use the urban areas while idling and to improve public amenities for residents and commuters.

As part of the RS 3,75 Crore Sanoration Plan for the space under the transfer of Mahalingapuram Road Road Over in T. Nagar, supplies for charging stations with two cycling vehicles (EV) are carried out, which are to be set up in coordination with the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation (Tangedco).

In addition to the EV infrastructure, an excellent parking space for two-wheelers, five commercial kiosks for the support of local companies and essential amenities for public use will be included.

The citizens' authority will install eight public toilets – three for men, three for women and two accessible to people with disabilities (PWDS).

The newly designed room is created with trees, plant beds, ornamental lighting and street furniture to create a more pedestrian -friendly environment.

Public seating areas and tactile paving are installed to support accessibility, especially for visually impaired people.

The area also has paved floor coverings and proper rainwater drains to ensure durability and cleanliness.

CCTV cameras and signage are installed to improve security and finding away.

At the same time, the transfer of Ramaswamy Road in Alwarpet is a similar RS 3.75 Crore renovation project under the TTK Road -CP Ramaswamy Road Road.

Although this location does not include EV charging stations, it offers organized parking spaces for two-wheelers and four-wheelers, commercial stands, landscape design, seating arrangement and decorative lighting.

The monitoring of the CCTV and an improved drainage infrastructure are also implemented. Separate tenders were floated for both projects, and the work is expected to begin after completing the offers.
