Boston architecture firm Studio 3.0 just added a new addition to the Octagon House in Cape Cod. As the name suggests, the house adopts structure from form and the new addition is a wedge-shaped silhouette with a screened porch.
The Octagon House was originally built in the 1970s and was an important part of the project, ensuring the extension was different from the original house. Head of Studio 3.0, Josh Slater, speaks about the dual expansions, noting: “Importantly, the Octagon itself has enormous sentimentality for the family, so it was imperative that it remained intact and that the addition – a new one Bedrooms, a new bathroom and office space” – be a truly independent extension of the existing house.”
