Matthew Currington, technical director at The Lighting Superstore, has revealed the most anticipated interior trends of 2025.
By compiling real-time search data, Mr. Currington has identified the four trends that are quickly gaining traction.
One of the most popular trends that is expected to be a big hit in 2025 is integrated AI-controlled smart lighting in the home.
Mr Currington elaborated: “In 2025 we can expect lighting systems that predict and optimize schedules to adapt to daily habits.”
Moving forward, AI lighting will “minimize energy waste by responding to natural light levels.”
AI lighting is designed to “increase well-being and productivity by adapting to our daily rhythms.”
Smart lighting devices require apps or hubs to work, but they will revolutionize the way homes are lit.
Aesthetically, Japanese and Scandinavian designs will be in the foreground in 2025.
Mr Currington said this aesthetic would merge into “Japandi” – a blend of nature and the beauty of imperfection.
Muted tones and organic shapes are all the rage, especially handmade items with irregular surfaces.
Fancy wireless lamps will play an important role in even the most modern homes. Turkish lamps in particular are becoming increasingly popular, especially because the light shines beautifully through the mosaic-like glass.
It's predicted that even wireless tulip-shaped lamps will be popping up in stores everywhere to add “personality and charm” to any home.
An everlasting trend that will continue to shape the most stylish homes in 2025 is ambient lighting.
“Smart, layered lighting techniques,” including lamps, sconces and dimmable lights, ensure a forever home feels cozy, warm and inviting.
