Apple is preparing to start a dramatically thinner iPhone in September, and if the youngest leaks are recorded, the so-called iPhone 17 air could have one of the most radical design shifts in recent years.

With only 5.5 mm thick (with the exception of a slightly raised camera flasher), it is expected that the 6.6-inch iPhone 17 air with a certain scope will become the slimest iPhone in the line-up. For comparison, the current iPhone 16 Pro measures 8.25 mm thick.
It is unlikely that this level of thinness will be accompanied without compromises. Dummy models shared by Appletrack Suggest that Apple has made some subtle adjustments to record internal components in stricter chassis. Above all, the USB-C port on the lower edge is no longer centered from front to back. Instead, it appears closer to the back of the device, which probably absorbs display components within the housing.
There are other signs of the reparation of Apple. The spokesman grilles show, for example, a checking design with only two holes on both sides of the port compared to the typical five. This reduction reflects the same space-saving measures that are necessary to fit into a battery, processor, display components and speakers in a much slimmer frame.
In order to save even more space, Apple should equip the iPhone 17 air with a single reversing camera. It is also expected that the company is completely eliminated the physical SIM card slot and ESIM support is taken worldwide-a shift that can be seen for the first time in US IPHONES with the iPhone 14.
One of the most interesting internal changes is the inclusion of Apple's new C1 modem, which was first introduced in the iPhone 16E. The ultra -efficient chip should play a major role in maintaining the battery life in such a thin frame. Despite its size, sources indicate that the iPhone 17 Air offers the battery power for the current iPhone models.
Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 17 series during its usual autumn event, which can also see Airpods Pro's debut.
