Instead of overwhelming the interiors with decorative strikers, she let the materials speak. Large marble installations and wood accents have the house in natural textures. And faithfully her design philosophy, Maya is not satisfied with standard furniture solutions. Instead, she created unique pieces by Studio NM, her tailor -made furniture label. “Every object was specially tailored to the room, from lighting to seating. It was about curating the entire home and making it personally.”
The project was not without challenges. The ground conditions of the location, which are over a wet tableland, made early excavations complicated and expensive. “We had to be patient – it slowed us down, but we also gave us more time to be intended with the design,” notes Maya. Despite these early setbacks, the renovation was completed in less than a year, with the pool and landscape design rising the longest into the finesse.
