RZI Lighting, a leading provider of professional lighting in the Greater New Orleans region, provided the single-sized LED trofille from Elation Proteus Maximus IP65 for the whole world, a light-based installation of the multidisciplinary artist Jeffrey Meris, which was exhibited in the recent exhibition exhibition for contemporary art from contemporary art.

In order to bring Meris' vision to life and draw attention to the art installation, the RZI lighting supplied the 50,000-lumen-protus lighting system from ELITZ, which was selected for its intensity and reliability in outdoor environments. Over five months on a roof on an Algiers point -including Mardi Gras and Super Bowl celebrations -the devices predicted the Morse code message “I am a promise” around the clock to ensure maximum visibility via the Mississippi.
“The Maximus had the right blow and was able to survive the elements for a longer period of time,” said Deshawn Robair from Rzi Lighting, who programmed the lights for continuous operation. “You kept up incredibly well – we only had to do it once, and that was only to easily accelerate the code sequence.”
RZI worked closely with Prospect New Orleans and exhibition manager LB Barfield throughout the project. The customer initially looked at a number of lighting options, including Sky trackers and other highs such as the Proteus Brutus and Excalibur, but ultimately selected the Maximus for his battle and clarity over long distances.
Robair reports that the reaction of both the customer prospectus and the public was great and that the installation in New Orleans Buzz produced. He noted that the customer has expressed interest in the use of similar lighting for art installations in the future.
