Text description of the architects. The design of the work and dining areas within the factory structure for Şahin Örme from Zemberek Design focuses on creating an immersive experience that combines functionality with the human experience of space. The core idea is to balance the rational, productive nature of the factory with a more humane environment that allows workers to experience the space with emotional and aesthetic connection, with the aim of fostering a sense of ownership and belonging.

Work Areas – In the work areas, Zemberek Design focused on the functional relationships between different departments and the production area. The design is based on the need for spontaneous interaction and control, with the office spaces designed to allow an easy visual and physical connection to production. This was achieved through a folded panel structure that creates platforms at different levels for managers and team leaders to monitor the production process. The transparency between the workspace and the production area helps maintain a continuous visual connection, allowing natural light from outside to flow through the expansive interior facades, reinforcing the feeling of openness. The circulation in the work areas is fluid, the paths converge to a central hall that acts as the focal point. The paths have been designed to encourage interaction. There are gathering areas between these paths to enable spontaneous connections. Clad in uniform materials, the building's steel structure complements the folded ceiling, creating a continuous, cohesive aesthetic that promotes smooth circulation and a clear understanding of the space.

Dining area – The dining area creates a sharp contrast to the industrial style of the production room. Here Zemberek Design wanted to create a more poetic, intimate atmosphere. The shift from the industrial work areas to the dining area highlights the concept of a “threshold”, characterized by a significant change in the perception of space. As a starting point for the design, the existing coffered ceiling structure was retained and a permeable interior envelope was created using a grid system, transforming the space into a more welcoming and breathable environment. The use of recurring arched niches and different materials throughout the dining area adds depth and richness to the atmosphere. The aim was to create a comfortable and welcoming environment for both employees and guests. The warm materials used in the dining area softened the raw concrete surfaces of the surrounding areas, providing a sense of contrast and a change from the industrial intensity of the work area.

Conceptual approach and integration – The design in both the working and dining areas reflects Şahin Örme's values of sincerity, naturalness and professionalism. The design of the workspace embodies the company's focus on efficiency, structure and teamwork with a streamlined flow that supports coordinated operations. In the dining area, the attention to detail in the patterns and materials reflects the company's claim to perfection in production. The aim is to provide a holistic experience that reflects the brand's values and creates a strong emotional connection with users, fostering a sense of ownership and commitment to the space. While the design is professional and functional, it also promotes the human aspect by creating environments where users can feel comfortable, relaxed and connected to both the space and the company's broader purpose.
