Shapiro-davis debt introduces transformative spatial optimization | Department of General Services

“For decades, the Commonwealth has expanded its presence in rented institutions without using its own real estate completely. This approach has led to inefficiencies, increased costs for taxpayers and work areas that no longer meet modern standards ” DGS Secretary Reggie McNeil. “The Shapiro-Davis management is obliged to provide high -quality services for all Pennsylvanians at the same time to reduce operating costs and to optimize the infrastructure of the Commonwealth. The soup initiative enables us to re -invest in state institutions and maximize their potential and at the same time create dynamic jobs and service conditions that serve our employees and the public better. “

DGS developed soup through cooperation with 43 state agencies, boards and commissions at 406 office locations that collectively identified significant opportunities to optimize space use and to reduce dependency on costly rented properties.
