A senior engineer in the Waterford City and County Council has announced that it to repair faulty street lamps.
Gabriel Hynes said in January by the District Council of Dungarvan-Lismore that legacy problems with cabling was the cause of the current questions.
“As you know, we have problems with our changes underground. We inherited the ESB Networks system in 2009, and these cables have disappeared from their sales date and need considerable investments in these public lights because they need new wiring “council members.
Cllr Damien Geoghegan said there were three lights on the Grattan Square.
“There was a light out there for a few years, and we were constantly addressing it, and now it has been stipulated, and now another three lights have assumed. There are six of one and a half dozen of another, “said Cllr Geoghegan.
Cllr Joe O'riordan repeated what Cllr Geoghegan said, the lights as “unsuitable” and asked if there were plans to improve the lighting on the pitch.
Mr. Hynes replied that the problem on the Grattan Square was the availability of fittings for decorative lighting.
Cllr Niamh O'Donovan said that the system had launched 58 lights in the entire area of Lismore. She said that there is a small number of lights in villages in the area, which causes a significant problem overall.
“Since these numbers are so small, we are realistic in the list so that this cable work can be done. So I want to speak for the Lismore local election area, ”said Cllr O'Donovan.
Mr. Hynes said: “We certainly do not neglect the Dungarvan-Lismore district. If it is a routine problem like a light bulb, this can certainly be clarified by the contractor in a very short time. ”
Cllr Donnchadh Mulcahy said that the lights on the Lismore Bridge had come out in the past three months.
“Could we put something under pressure to do it earlier than later? It's a heritage city, “said Cllr Mulcahy.
Mr. Hynes said the problem on the Lismore Bridge was a device and a new cabling was also required.
Cllr Geoghegan asked that the council created a report on all failures and what it would need to remedy them. Mr. Hynes said that you are currently making a report so that you can go to the department in order to receive the required financing.
