Kings Mountain, NC (WBTV) – A police officer from Kings Mountain was arrested at the weekend after a suspected incident in his house in Cleveland County.
Kings Mountain Police There were not many details about what was supposed to happen, but said that 37-year-old Edward Ray Padgett was detained on Sunday, August 31.
The police said Padgett was first asked in Cleveland County before he was moved to Lincoln County's prison until Tuesday morning, where he remained – without bond.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation was called to check the case, and based on the results of the agency, Padgett was charged with a fatal weapon due to assault, causing serious injuries. The exact allegations that have led to the indictment are unclear.

The city of Kings Mountain and her police department said that they were both “fully working with the SBI and, in all matters, they were to be committed to transparency and accountability”.
Court files showed that Padgett should appear in Cleveland County on Tuesday morning.
It was not immediately clear why Padgett was recorded in Lincoln County, but went to court in Cleveland County.
