I will never get tired of decorating with wood. Its natural elegance and timeless attractiveness always look nice, regardless of style or environment. Nevertheless, the style editor searched for a fresh view of the wooden furniture we know and love – and I think I found it: enter the twisted wood trend.
This trend literally uses traditional wood decorum, offers a playful development of the trend for coil furniture and may respond to our collective desire for distinctive, more personalized houses. “People got tired that everything was so simple,” explains the interior designer Lauren Saab. “For years everything was smooth, straight, minimal furniture, and after a while it felt cold.
Twisted Wood comes and gives you something else. 'Twisted Wood moves movement into a otherwise static piece, texture into a material that is usually flat, and the personality to decor, which otherwise may feel easy. “It feels more manufactured as if someone is actually working on it, even if it is manufactured,” added Lauren. 'This little detail makes a big difference. There is just enough character to highlight and at the same time be at home in a modern environment. '

Rotated wood details have a dynamic, almost kinetic quality. As Lauren explains: “What makes Twisted Wood, how it plays with light. A straight leg feels static, but a spiral reflects shadows in a way that changes again and again when they move around them. '
The size, shape or style of the piece does not matter. “Even something small, like a chair or a mirror frame, can change how a room feels,” continues Lauren. “The twisted wood trend gives the room more shape and prevents it from feeling lifeless.”
Twisted Wood is, like traditional wooden furniture, inherently versatile and customizable to every interior. In some rooms it becomes a brave design statement; In other cases, it offers a subtle, complementary note. “On a large piece like a console or a bar wagon, the detail immediately draws the eye and sets the sound for the room,” says Lauren.
'It goes back slightly on a smaller piece and only adds a touch of texture. The fact that it can feel brave in a context and reserved in another makes it so versatile. '

I may be biased because I actually have this lamp, but I have to admit that it is one of my favorite examples for the twisted wood trend. From foldable shade to the dark, almost gray-tinted wooden base, this lamp combines a moody mood with a traditional design. It is certainly a chic choice that can increase every table top.

The twisted wood trend has something so fascinating – from its sculptural construction to its wrapped effect. This mirror captures all of these properties. Newport Frames
This picture frame offers a more subtle view of the twisted wood trend. As Lauren explains, Twisted Wood is remarkably versatile – it can make a courageous statement about large furniture, but radiate the quiet elegance on smaller pieces like this frame. The textured design and the bright wooden tone create a sophisticated backdrop that improves every image displayed by it.
Whether large or small, slightly colored or dark, twisted wood designs give a house an undeniable character. But take Lauren's advice: “You don't have to fill a room with twisted wood. Just start small,” she recommends. “What you don't want is to overdo it. If every leg has the same twisted wood finish in the room, the room does not feel curated and begins to feel staged. '
As with every trend, the key is to find the balance in the interior. With only a few thoughtful wooden details, you can reach a room that feels both dynamically and harmoniously.
