Silver Sand Motel & Beach Bungalows
1400 Silverere Road, Greenport, 631-997-1957, Silversandsmotel.com

“The design approach was deeply associated with the sense of the place with silver sand, its history and emotional connections to people,” explains the owner Alexander Perros. “If I had to give him a name, I would call it a” context-driven “design or development, which is led by a deep respect for Silver Sands' 1950s and the generations by guests who built an estimated memories here.”
With a view of Pipes Cove in Greenport on 45 by Hollander Design Landscape Architects, which is thoughtfully redesigned, the carefully redesigned resort with 20 motel rooms and 14 huts reminds you, which causes a nostalgic ambience with its 1950s-inspired furniture, happy material options and unique touch. Books, match boxes and found objects that you would normally not expect to see in a hotel room, call a playful, personal experience. “I think this attention to detail is part of the guests and creates a feeling of intimacy and connection with just enough escapism to make it special,” says Perros. “We took care of the design of Silver Sands in residential extensions because we wanted people to feel at home here.”
If you re-introduce the smaller, original footprint of the motel rooms, the thoughtful and creative elements provided living and bedroom rooms with the same privacy with half walls and half headboards. In comparison, touches such as daydream-inducing padded window neck in the Waterfront Cottages invite you to settle down. BATH-BATS of Flamingo Estate, a unique and sustainable brand that is exclusive for Silver Sands, and charming bathrooms bring a luxurious element. However, Perros insists that it is not the design details that drive the seamless mix of nostalgia and creature comfort. “I don't want a guest to go into the room and think: 'Oh, I love this chair or this lamp.' Instead, I want you to feel that you love and want to be in this place – [are] attracted. The design is only completed when the guest enters the room and inhabits. “
Hotel Moraine

Hotel Moraine in Greenport
“Our goal was simple: the guests should feel connected to the water immediately when they arrived,” says Kristen Pennessi, who opened the striking Hotel Moraine in Greenport with her husband Dan in June 2023 after an 18-month renovation. The design of the independent building in which the lobby is located is reminiscent of a modern barn, which with rows of beach grass bubbles in the wind. When entering, his windows with room-high windows offer a spacious view of a gunite salt water pool and also Long Island Sound. It certainly makes a dramatic first impression.
But while the look is brave and luxurious, the hotel is known for a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with boccia ball on the lawn, on Fireside S'Mores and, perhaps most interesting, a community hut that offers a breathtaking view of the sunset. The Little House differs from the other buildings and on a bluff. It offers a peaceful retreat for those who are looking for loneliness or vice versa a fantastic meeting point for friends and family.
“There with a good book, surrounded by the sea breeze and a comprehensive look, is something wonderful when it comes to a good book,” says Pennessi. “Historically speaking, the former owners rented the cottage as a single residence. It is the best place on the property. So we wanted to open it to all guests, to combine and enjoy what they choose, be it happy, children's trade, corporate functions or yoga courses.”
The needs of the working travelers were also taken into account in the design of each water guest room in the adjacent two-story buildings with integrated cupboards, a desk and an essential with a well-equipped minibar. “If we have taught us something in recent years, people need a place to work on vacation,” says Pennessi. “Since it was relatively small rooms, we knew that built -in in the functionality would maximize without affecting the style.”
Each room work aside luxurious spa bathroom with wrapped tubs or walk-in showers, anatome toilet items, plush cassate and bend bed linen. “For me, the luxury begins with a dreamy sleep,” says Pennessi. “We have just introduced our pillow menu and enabled the guests to perfectly adapt their sleeping experience.”
The Pridwin Hotel & Cottages
81 Shore Road, Shelter Island, 631-749-0476, Caperesorts.com

Colleen Bashaw, Vice President for Interior Architecture of Cape Resort, carefully supervised the overwork of the 33 rooms and 16 houses, which were embedded between The Petry Family, Islands, which were presented with cape resorts between the trees on Pridwin, the beloved Waterside Hotel from the 1920s. “It was important to include photos and objects about the past of their family in the design,” says Bashaw.
With an inherent feeling of detail, Bashaw gave the Pridwin a needed shot in the arm, the strong background images, ancient wickers and bright flower fabrics inspired by vintage in the rooms and re-presented its timeless vibe of the Seaside resort. “I like to use high -quality fabrics from established brands that I know from which they take, especially linen substances, since the color saturation of cotton differs and feels more layered,” she says.
The studio and the cottages with two bedrooms have a classic adirondack aesthetics that pays homage to the history of Pridwin, including the outer white color color with signature hunter-green equipment. “I wanted the design to feel nostalgic and summer, but completely fresh,” says Bashaw. Since it has always been the way here, an extended stay is undoubtedly promoted in a few cottages with the addition of kitchen paper. “I think they are just wonderful,” says Bashaw. “The opportunity to drink muesli or coffee in the morning without leaving your house is a little luxury.”
Camp-like nostalgia, Bashaw's attention to structural and aesthetic details, a breathtaking view of the Peconian bay and the daily activities that resemble the Catskills resorts of days, which from the stays in the Pridwin Cottage are a simple choice for a family vacation-the solo traveler is not against his irritation. “In our first summer we had a single gentleman book a house for a week,” says Bashaw. “He loved it so much, he stayed for a month.”
See, Sand + Sound
Southhold, 718-309-1305, [email protected]bungalowouteast.com

“Our vision for the bungalow is to provide the luxury of a hotel, the intimacy of a house and the calm of a spa,” says the owner and holistic practitioner of Greenport, Dr. Kristina Ivy, from her rental house in Southhold. The bungalow from the 1940s with a view of the Great Pond has been withdrawn from the rustic narrow road and has only one block away due to its proximity to the Long Island Sound.
The Petite 850 square meter cottage feels surprisingly spacious, partly due to the calm, neutral palate, comfortable seating and large windows that are directed to the water. Ivy was initially developed as a shop window for her brand Rica after customers often expressed their wishes to live in the shop, and exhibited the holiday rental with linen-covered furniture, accessories and rica bathrooms and body products that exist that have a “top priority” and wrap the guests in sensory comfort. Signature rica room sprays such as Estragon + Bitters immediately state the sound on arrival, with notes of Clementine, lime shell and verbena in the mix. “Fragrance is immediately memories,” explains Ivy. “I hope that I can inspire this in the room so that the guests enjoy and appreciate the time together.”
The cottage also offers a dining area in the kitchen and farm table, a luxury that is usually not available in hotels. “For a well -equipped rent, you have to think about what your guests do at home so that you don't miss anything,” says Ivy. “I like to see it as a 'supplies for relaxed life'. For the cook you need a fully equipped kitchen, for which readers, great books and children, great board games.”
With all the attention to detail, most visitors who are familiar with the Rica brand will check in according to the amenities of the skin care and bathing system. “I find the psychology behind the vacation fascinating, the process of enabling yourself, leaving what is familiar, hugging and growing something new,” says Ivy. “We try to do that so that you feel like you are at home, but better.”
Aqua Beach Hotel
15 Bay Ave., Aquebogue, 631-722-3212, aquahotelbachclub.com

“The calm, almost Mediterranean atmosphere of Flanders Bay is a main train for those who stay in Aqua,” says real estate director Ryan Farrell. “Guests often return to the breathtaking sunsets, gentle water and the quiet charm of our location, which stand out from the more busy parts of Long Island.”
With playful, sexy design decisions (the hallway offers wallpaper with bathing shimmer, while giraffe lamp bases and cable walking sculptures in palm pieces underline the sense of fun. With every suite that offers a remote sun terrace that builds up in a spacious garden, a rattan day and a private beach, there is no lack of rooms to relax.
Farrell, who is also General Manager of American Beech, Aqua's sister property in Greenport, describes the Oasis mood in the 18-room boutique hotel in Wasserquebogue as a sensory experience, which was partly addressed by the Sicilian luxury brand Ortigia's Nature Bad and Body Appendices in every room.
“The goal was to create an elegant aesthetics that shifts tropical escapism with a slight adventure and at the same time maintain the natural beauty of the North Fork,” explains Farrell.
