Interior architect Audrey Mae Montalban Latada not Only Tackle Small Space Design projects, but from this recently renovated 215 square meter studio apartment in the Philippines, she is an expert in maximizing tiny rooms.
“My client dreamed of a room that felt comfortable, worth living and really. That is why we have changed every corner on purpose,” Audrey from the apartment that her client has had for 10 years.
“Small rooms can practice potential, and this project proves that there is always a nice solution with thoughtful design that is waiting for the development,” Audrey continues. “Regardless of the size, your space should reflect your lifestyle and bring you comfort. Let this be a memory: Even the smallest rooms can tell the greatest stories.”

The device that this customer bought was quite old and even came with a leak. But now after the renovation last March, Audrey describes his style as a “Scandinavian chic”. According to Audrey, the new style of the studio apartment reflects the vision of the owner “an experienced businesswoman who is enthusiastic about a fresh, innovative design in a compact space”.
Audrey's renovation skills have tackled four large small space dilemma:

1. Add clever, hidden memory
“I advised my customer to only buy functional items that meet a purpose in the device and at the same time consciously consciously the available storage space for maintaining a clean and crowded home,” writes Audrey. “The main bed fits conveniently with two people and has a cancellation mechanism that shows hidden storage space below the frame-an ideal solution to keep the device organized without affecting comfort or functionality. A long, multifunctional desk serves both as a dining table and as an examination area and maximizes the benefit in a compact layout.”

2. Create privacy (without the room smaller)
“The strategic use of mirrors and a slim glass partition creates an airy feeling of openness when looking at privacy. The television is cleverly installed in the middle of the mirrored wall and compares itself to the design seamlessly while maintaining functionality,” writes Audrey. “In order to visually separate the seating area from the bedroom, the customer decided on a glass partition in a classic French design and ensured an open, spacious atmosphere. Decorative lighting in silk fabric was selected to throw a warm white shine to improve the cozy and inviting ambience of the device.”

3 .. feel Greater with intentional materials
“Braid oak accents are included in the entire device, which adds texture and a warm, homely attraction,” Audrey, who explains that “strategically placed mirrors improve the illusion of the room and the area also feel larger and open”. In the kitchen area, an almost pure white palette with a PVC board with laminates and oaks and white cupboards creates a clean but spacious look. “The minimalist design improves the brightness and visually expands the room,” writes Audrey. “The bathroom continues the purely white theme and creates a bright, clean and cozy atmosphere. Sufficient lighting improves the feeling of freshness and space.” All walls in the small house were also deleted in a “semi -free white for the light reflection and a bright, airy feeling”.

4. Selection of furniture with more than one function
Audrey says that she has to rely on tailor -made furnishings and intelligently designed pieces because it was a small room. “The compact sofa is a convertible piece that turns into a single bed and takes up an additional guest if necessary,” writes Audrey. “Integrated in the bathroom is a compact washing area that is designed for efficiency. A retractable clothing shelf is installed in order to meet the drying requirement without affecting the floor and maintaining a neat and functional layout.”
