There are some living culture pieces that are so far out of the budget that you just have to stay on your dream shopping wish list forever. When an Instagram user stumbled onto an entrance tablet who is currently being sold for over 10,000 US dollars, she found out how to use the look for less than 200 US dollars using IKEA salads, not less, DIY DIY.
“This summer I made an input table of my dreams of $ 10,000 with these IKEA salads,” said Cassandra Noel, based in Chicago, recently in an Instagram video.
The original table consists of marble and travertine, hence the expensive price. It has a pulled top that is supported as a base by three stacked ball shapes on both ends. Noel used eight Ikea Blanda shells that were glued together on the edge to first create the spherical appearance of the legs of the original table.
“I used wood fillers to fill the wrinkles in the bowl, and at that time I was like, wait … that could actually be really cool,” she said in her video.
Noels Ikea-Sourcing table (literally) took shape when she founded her saladal legs and designed the table top. She used a piece of plywood and followed one of the salads to cut out the scallops for “The Perfect Squiggly Form”, as she explained in the video.

Everything then got a good sand and stain before Noel let the parts dry overnight. The next day she stuck the Bowl balls salad to create the legs, to stick the top on each of them, and the table was ready to rock.
The wooden tones of the finished product give it a cozy, warm atmosphere that fits the vintage decor in Noels input so well. “So damn cool,” commented one person. Another said: “Wow, that's so smart, I love it.”
