If you start a kitchen renovation, you may ask a style question that you may ask yourself: Do you keep a neutral, timeless, classic (albeit a little less visually interesting) look or do you choose something bold?
The digital creator Kate Ward (@kateandherhome) did not hesitate to give the 10-year-old kitchen in her house in Lancashire, UK, color, but it has also proven that they can have the best of both worlds.

“It was very simple with cream -colored doors with a high gloss and didn't really fit my inner style,” says Kate about the original cuisine. “The configuration of the cupboards did not optimize the room very well, and there was not much storage. The layout of the cupboards and the stove in the original kitchen was not very sociable when I had guests because I either had my back to the people while I could cook or couldn't see on our terrace and on the terrace.”

After lived with the “neutral cuisine”, Kate knew that she wanted to exchange it for something colorful and “fat”. She also wanted to combine different styles-and have always been her dream in the shaker style, and the combination with more lively colors would create a wonderful mashup of classic and modern aesthetics.

But it wasn't just the colors of the kitchen that had to change. Kate says that it was a big goal to fulfill the layout of the room to chat with guests and family while cooking. Therefore, she hired a designer to create her dream floor plan, which would check all of her boxes.

During the renovation, Kate hung MDF denals and decorative pearls on the wall and painted them with ammonit by Farrow & Ball. The color of the forest gross added the new Howdens adaptation cabinets from Elmbridge in Olive and truffle. Finally, the cupboards and drawers were decorated with new hardware. It took about three weeks to end the revision of the room.

Kate loves how the transformation has changed as her family uses the room. She can now chat with friends while she cooks and watches her children play in the garden. But that's not all. “The colors are much brighter than before, and I immediately feel happy when I look at this room,” she says. “But the new memory is really the highlight of the renovation.”

“My memory problems were solved with many drawers and the harder of my dreams! I love to exhibit all of my ingredients in the harder. It is really the star of the show,” says Kate. “I'm no longer in front of the wall when I can now cook an induction hob on the island.”
