Malvern, Pa., March 12, 2025 (Globe Newswire) -Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (: VSH) has introduced a new series of AEC-Q200 qualified power metal strip today® Shunt resistors with industry TCR up to ± 10 ppm/° C. For automotive, energy, industrial and space applications, Vishay Dale WSBE series devices offer extremely low resistance values to 15 µω and high performance ratings to 50 W.
The ultra low TCR performance of the devices published today results from a combination of its solid metal resistant and patented TCR reduction technology. This unique design leads to a reduced TCR, while the need for temperature compensation is eliminated and the calibration required for a two -point process is simplified. It also simplifies the required compensation software and reduces the number of components that are required to take the temperature shifts into account. This saves space and simplified designs and product development to reduce costs and increase the accuracy.
The WSBE series devices offered in case sizes 8518 and 8536 have a proprietary processing technology that generates its extremely low resistance values. In combination with high performance ratings and life stability of 1 %, the result is a high power resistance, which can process up to 1825 A without noticeable resistance.
The WSBE series is designed for the current measurement in Batteries Management Systems (BMS), in which the need for temperature recording and software calibration is eliminated during production. The devices are ideal for the shop infrastructure for electrical (EV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) such as golf wagons and motorcycles. Additional applications include energy monitoring and measuring systems, large battery systems, battery backup for UPS, inverter for industrial engine drives and tools as well as satellites.
