What the color-coded price tags mean at TJMaxx in Minnesota

I'm a big fan of TJMaxx. Do I come home almost every time with more things than I wanted to buy? Yes. Do I regret it? Absolutely not, I love all of my finds!

We have a number of TJMaxx locations in Minnesota and if you shop frequently, you may have noticed that they sometimes have different label and sticker colors. But do you know what they mean? We'll break this down!

TJMaxx-owned stores

First, if you are a big TJMaxx fan, you may already know this, but TJMaxx owns a few different home furnishings and clothing stores. There's HomeGoods and Marshall's, which I think are most commonly known as being owned by the TJMaxx Company.

But Sierra is also a TJMaxx brand. It's like a TJMaxx for outdoor stuff.

And then there's HomeSense, which I'm not that familiar with, but it seems similar to HomeGoods. It also appears that they have some locations in the US, but it is primarily a Canadian brand.

However, as far as I know, these color hacks for labels and stickers are only applicable to TJMaxx.

TJMaxx color codes

Next time you're at TJMaxx looking for a good deal, look for these colors on the price tags. One of them will tell you when the price is as low as possible!

TJMaxx has white labels, blue labels, purple labels, red stickers and orange stickers. Here's what they all mean.

The white label is the regular price only. Very easy.

A blue label means there is a matching item nearby, but the items can also be sold separately, according to a TJMaxx representative who spoke to NewsNation.

Purple labels are special. Purple markings mean the item is part of The Runway by TJMaxx. It is “a high-end collection of “European, contemporary and couture fashion”.”

Then we come to the discount colors! As you probably know, a red sticker on a label means a discount on the item. And I saw several red stickers on top of each other, so they can be reduced even more.

Pay attention to the yellow stickers. This means the price of the item won't go down, so better grab it if you want it!
